Well-being and Life Skills Centre

Camphill Blair Drummond is building a new Well-being and Life Skills Centre to support adults with complex learning difficulties, including Autism, Down Syndrome, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, and Fragile X Syndrome.

This is the final project in a £15m capital development programme and will significantly enhance opportunities for our residents, day participants, volunteers, and employees.

The photos show an impression of the new Well-being and Life Skills Centre entrance and mansion house.

The Centre will provide a welcoming, purpose-built space designed to improve health, well-being, and life skills, enabling individuals to build independence while enjoying activities tailored to their needs. Facilities will include:

  • A main hall for group activities such as Dance, Fitness, Yoga, Boccia, and social events.
  • A small gym for personal fitness.
  • A kitchenette, changing rooms, and toilet facilities.

Why This Centre Matters

Individuals with learning difficulties often face barriers to accessing health, fitness, and social opportunities. Local facilities are limited, crowded, and unsuitable due to noise and accessibility challenges. The new Centre will provide a calm, supportive environment for small group or individual activities, addressing these needs while fostering a strong sense of community.

The space will also be available during evenings and weekends for residents, day participants, families, volunteers, and employees to enjoy social events, film nights, and celebrations such as our Advent Sale, Family Day, and Highland Games. Additionally, it will be shared with local groups working with learning-disabled children and adults, extending its impact to the broader community.

Our Goal

The total cost of the Centre, including enabling works, is £2.35 million. We have already raised over half of this amount thanks to generous supporters. We now seek to raise £1.1 million to bring this life-changing project to fruition. Every contribution, large or small, will make a difference. Construction is planned to begin in the summer of 2025, and the Camphill Central Scotland Trust underwrites the project.
